     Policies & Campground Etiquette

  Management and staff reserve the right to refuse service to anyone noncompliant with    campground policies.  All activities in the campground are done at the individual's free    will and Custer Crazy Horse Campground will not be responsible for accidents,

  injuries or for the loss of money or valuables of any kind.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be done by email to:    reservations@custercrazyhorsecampground.com  

​

  • Any reservation that is NOT cancelled via email or does not show up will be charged for all unpaid nights reserved.

  • Cancellations made (14) fourteen days before your arrival will be refunded 1st night deposit, less a $25.00 cancellation process fee.

  • Cancellations made (7) seven days before your arrival will not be refunded the 1st night deposit.

  • HOLIDAY & STURGIS CANCELLATIONS must be made (30) thirty days before your stay to receive the first night deposit refund, minus a $25.00 cancellation processing fee.

  • No refunds for early departure

  • No refunds are given after check-in

  • PRIVATE PROPERTY:  As guests of our campground, please help us keep our rates affordable for all, by limiting water and electric usage.  Treat our property as you would want guests treating your property.  Thank you!

  • ABSOLUTELY NO ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED TO CHARGE ON THE    CAMPGROUND, there are charging stations located in Custer City for a fee.

  • Check in is at 2:00 pm - Check out is at 11:00 am

  • SPEED LIMIT Is 5 MPH throughout the campground and for the safety of all              pedestrian traffic it is STRICTLY ENFORCED!  First offense will come with a strong  warning, second offence you will be asked to leave the campground

  • CHILDREN:  Are the responsibility of the Parents/Guardians at all times. Please do not let children play with water spigots or in the restrooms and to be courteous of other camper’s space

  • QUITE TIME:  10:00pm - 8:00am         

  • Restrooms/Laundry: Open 24 hours during season

  • POOL:  Hours are 9:30 am to 8:00 pm Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.  

  • NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY.  NO DIVING into pool.  Swim at your own risk.              Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.  Please, no disposable diapers in the pool; swim diapers must be used.  Glass containers, food and smoking are not allowed inside the pool area   

  • ​VISITORS:  Must register at the office upon arrival, a staff member will direct visitor parking to the closest area to your site.  All visitor vehicles must have a car pass placed on the rearview mirror while on the campground

  • Pets:  Are family too! However, they must be kept under control at all times and          NEVER LEFT ALONE IN A CABIN.  Please pick up after your pet(s) and dispose of  waste properly.  We sell poop bags in the store.  If any pet demonstrates aggressive  behavior towards another pet or any camper, you will be asked to leave the                campground.  No excessive barking. 

  • SITES: No vehicle repairs allowed on the campground.  Do not wash your vehicles,  RVs, or motorcycles on the campground.  One vehicle per site unless approved by    staff, extra vehicle parking available if needed.  Do Not Move Firepits unless approved by staff.   All vehicles must display a campground car tag hung from the rearview mirror at all times while on the campground

  • ​BE COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL TO YOUR NEIGHBORS.  

  • Please keep loud noises, music and TVs on low volume. Do not cut through occupied RV, Cabin or Tent sites.

  • ​CAMP FIRES: Are permitted, but only in the fire rings provided.  For fire safety, Do Not burn logs longer than what will fit inside the supplied fire rings (16”).  DO NOT move fire rings unless approved by staff.  NEVER leave a fire unattended and extinguish it before turning in for the night or leaving the campground.

  • ​FIREWOOD:  It is illegal to bring firewood into South Dakota from many out-of-state  sources.  If firewood is brought in from another state, we require you to burn all of it  immediately or we will confiscate it and dispose of it properly for you.  We have          firewood for sale at the office during business hours.  There is NO cutting of trees or  branches permitted on the campground or from our neighbor's properties.   

  • ​FIREWORKS: BLACK HILLS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT STRICTLY PROHIBITS THE USE OF ALL FIREWORKS.

  • NO SMOKING: In any building including cabins, deckhouse, restroom/showers,      laundry room or store.  You will be held accountable for the $250.00 cleaning fee,      or a $500.00 cleaning fee for the deckhouse.
